Today's tragedy in CT

In light of today's horrible tragedy (the elementary school shooting in CT), while many grieve & others ask questions about better gun control, I think that it is time that we as a country thought about some other factors that I believe have contributed more to the recent violence than gun ownership.
In 1962/63, The Bible & prayer was removed from public schools.
With it began a movement to deny a supreme Creator (the authority to whom we will ultimately answer).
In 1973 we legalized abortion, effectively saying that certain lives were not valuable, do not matter & are less than human. Many push to that it's OK to kill babies in the womb. (Then shouldn't it be OK to kill children in the school?) L
Evolution is taught in public schools and polluting most science books we read, saying we came from nothing & are here by accident, for no purpose.
Lenient criminal sentences & doing away with capital punishment shows wrong-doers that there are no real consequences for their actions. While violent video games have glorified killing with no consequences, as well.
A big theme is that there are no losers, that everyone wins. So when life brings trials and failure, people can't handle it
We have removed the 10 commandments because “they” want separation of church & state.
We have made truth & morals relative to “what's right for me may not be right for you”.  There are no moral absolutes.
As a nation, we can't do & teach all these things and expect a different outcome than what has sadly happened today.
Don’t blame guns- Blame the moral decay of our United States of America. Liberal ideas get pushed down people’s throats, polluting lives, and trying to persuade people that there is no God, and no real reason to live, do good, or glorify our Creator.

America please turn back to God!
The United States of America no longer blesses God, so why should God Bless America!?

This was put together from many thoughts people shared throughout the day.

The word: Courtship

I recently read a very good article (online) about courtship

Here is how it defined Courtship:

"Like the word trinity, the term courtship is not found in the Bible, but the idea surely is. In brief, courtship is the process of investigating (i.e., getting to know) a person with marriage in mind. It is the time period for evaluating a suitor’s inward character, values, interests, beliefs, practices and life purpose to ensure that a godly match occurs.
The term courtship is derived from the words court and ship
Court means a trial of law for evaluating evidence; and...
Ship refers to boundaries (such as in the word township, meaning boundaries of a town).
So, the term courtship may be used to speak of the boundaries, or proper approach, for evaluating evidence of a person’s true character, just as in a court of law. We see this investigative process in several scriptural marriages (Isaac and Rebekah – Gen. 24) as well as in various scriptural principles, such as 1 Thessalonians 5:21: Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good."

When Love Came Down

I listened to this song this morning and think it is beautiful.

I sometimes think about how it would have been to be Mary. She was a young woman. She loved the Lord and tried to live for Him. Could you imagine having the Lord put you in this special place and use your life this way, to birth and raise the Savior of the World? Wow!

Gingerbread House

At the assembly my family attends we have a Secret Sister's Program. My secret sister gave me a gingerbread house kit. It was a lot of fun putting it together.

Here is the finished product:
 and the side and back:

What fun things do you do with friends and family over the Winter months?

Photos from my good friend's recent graduation:

The graduate is in the middle:

She asked my cousin and I to sing. We sang "You Raise Me Up".

A line-up of friends!

 Being Goofy!

This is a neat analogy.

I wanted to post this to encourage my friends who are waiting to see who God has for them!

Girls don't fall for a guy to pick you up. WAIT and GROW!
That boy will come along who God gave the will to climb all the way to the top for you and then you will know He is honorable!

What I plan to do with my life!

I am currently about half way through my senior year. I recently attended a very close friend's graduation (She graduated early; mid-year). She starts college training in January.

Being at this graduation made me think of my upcoming one, mostly just what my "speech" will say as it will be very different from hers.

My main goal in life is to be a Godly wife and mother! There is no higher calling. The Lord is the one that places this as a high priority. The world places priority on career, schooling, money, etc.

Well, my talk is going to mostly tell about my desires to be a Godly wife and mother. I also hope to show the great importance of this job as in this era, even Christians do not seem to hold it in as high regard as what the Lord does and instructs us to. Of course, I care what the Lord thinks, teaches, wants of me but it is also a chance for me to show those at my graduation what the Bible says about this topic.

So, as I do my research for my speech, my mom is doing what she often does as a homeschooling mom. She told me to make a report or notebook on this topic. It is something then that can remind and encourage me thoughout the years I am living out this role.

So... as I find things that I feel are Biblical on this topic and encouraging to those of us that seek this as the highest calling for a young lady, I will post them here on my blog. I hope if you read any of them that you will leave comments. We, soon-to-be-high school graudates always here the questions "So, where will you be going to school?", "What do you plan to be?" My answer, as a future homemaker is of course "to be a Godly wife and mother".... but the responses and looks of their faces (even of Christians) can be not-very-encouraging.
So, let's encourage one another, young future homemakers! :)

Here is a Homemakers Creed I found. It can be printed out and signed. Click the link below for the the printable.
